Milestone Achievement: Delivery of the 200th SLT to Geberit Fabrication in Givisiez
THE Machines Yvonand SA is proud to announce the delivery of its 200th SLT (Soudeuse Laser Transversale = Laser Cross Welding Machine), marking a significant milestone in the company’s history.
Since the introduction of the first SLT, our commitment to continuous innovation, precision engineering, and technological excellence has enabled us to evolve our laser welding systems to meet the demanding requirements of the industry. Over the years, THE Machines has delivered state-of-the-art solutions worldwide, reflecting the Swiss values of quality, reliability, and performance.
This 200th unit (and also the 201th) will be delivered to Geberit, a highly esteemed and long-standing partner in the field of sanitary technology. We are honored to achieve this milestone together with Geberit, a company recognized globally for its commitment to innovation and sustainability. We sincerely thank Geberit for their trust and collaboration throughout the years. “This delivery is also a personal milestone,” shares Wolfgang Reith, CTO of THE Machines Yvonand SA. “It coincides with my 15th anniversary at THE Machines on April 1st — a meaningful moment to reflect on our journey and achievements.”
Over the past three decades, THE Machines has developed deep expertise in laser welding, building a comprehensive parameter database covering over 500 metal alloys. The SLT product family has grown to become the most requested stand-alone unit in our expanding portfolio — primarily used in stamping applications worldwide, followed by the cable and multilayer pipe industries.
Today, our SLTs are trusted for their precision and adaptability, particularly in specialized electro-steel applications with coated tapes. Our solutions include advanced automation features such as weld seam flattening, annealing for carbon steel, overlap welding for ultra-thin stainless steel (as thin as 0.0025 mm), parallelizing and edge alignment, as well as automatic coil changeovers for coils up to 3,000 kg.
This achievement is the result of the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of our employees across all departments — from research and development, production, and electrical assembly to testing and quality assurance. Their contribution has been vital to the successful realization of each machine delivered.
